Raising the Bar on BOP Integrity

Since the company’s inception, Aquila Engineering has focused on making BOP’s safer and more reliable.

Even before Aquila was founded in April of 2019, Aquila staff came from like-minded organizations across the Deepwater drilling community, including Operator BOP Reliability Teams, Drilling Contractor BOP Maintenance & Repair teams, 3rd party BOP expert survey organizations, and even digital analytic departments from Academic institutions.

Once together under the Aquila banner, with the common goal of improving BOP integrity, Aquila staff have developed industry leading Real Time Monitoring (RTM) with customized physics based digital analytical technologies including the fastest and most certain digital BOP pressure testing using machine learning and artificial intelligence. 

With the blend of technical expertise and advanced digital analytical tools, Aquila sought to improve our quality management system to underpin our BOP integrity management goals. This final hurdle has been fully realized with Aquila’s independent certification against ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.

The focus on quality management processes created a perfect platform for defining and improving our environmental management processes and after extensive third-party audits by an ISO accredited auditor Aquila also received certification against ISO 14001:2015 environmental management system.

As the first company ever to achieve ISO certification across such a diverse BOP digital analytics product line, we are immensely proud of our growing staff who embraced the high standards defined by ISO and recognized the benefit that certification has for Aquila for “raising the bar” on BOP integrity management.
